Levaquin (levofloxacin) is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic specially designed for the treatment of infections caused by the presence of bacteria. This medicine is supposed to be taken under the supervision of your health care provider. If you have ever been allergic to the active ingredient of Levaquin (levofloxacin) your any other antibiotics of the kind, such as lomefloxacin, ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, moxifloxacin or norfloxacin, taking this drug is not recommended is you may get the same reaction all over again. Your health care provider is supposed to know if you have any medical conditions that may in any way affect the success of your treatment – including seizures, joint problems, diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease, low levels of potassium in your blood, or myasthenia gravis, as some of them may be contraindications for taking Levaquin.
