NETTLE
Nettle is a nutrient herb as well as being beneficial for the whole body, including the skin. It combines well with other herbs to help chronic skin conditions.

PARSLEY
Parsley is a powerful diuretic and tonic herb. It is rich in Vitamin C, Iron and Copper, being ideal for anaemia. It is useful as a carminative, digestive tonic and a supportive supplement for a horse who is recovering after a debilitating illness or is going through an intensive period of training.

PASSIONFLOWER
Passionflower can be of benefit to horses who are generally nervous and apprehensive, as well as those who are distressed and restless due to a current illness. It also has pain-relieving and anti-spasmodic properties and can be useful for moody mares and horses with tight, sore muscles.
PEPPERMINT
Peppermint is an excellent digestive tonic that can help to relieve flatulence, stimulate poor appetite, ease nausea and colic. It can also be combined with other herbs for fevers, colds and flu.

RASPBERRY
Raspberry leaf is used as an alternative to hormonal therapy for mares with oestrus problems and behavioral disturbances. Most beneficial for mares that have had, or are likely to have, difficulty conceiving. Raspberry is used to tone the uterine muscles, encourage easy labour, and prevent or reduce haemorrhaging during and after foaling. May also be useful in cases of mouth ulcers, conjunctivitis and diarrhoea.

RED CLOVER
Red Clover is a powerful blood purifier and is especially beneficial for skin conditions. It also has expectorant properties making it beneficial for coughs and bronchitis. This herb has proven useful in removing tumors and cysts, but is best used under supervision. It also has oestrogenic effects, which may affect those with hormonal imbalances.

ROSEHIPS
Rosehips are one of the best natural sources of vitamin C along with other minerals such as Copper and Cobalt. They contain Biotin which is most beneficial for excellent hoof growth. Rosehips are great as a general tonic, immune system booster and circulatory herb.

SAGE
Sage has remarkable restorative powers. It is used as part of a mixture to rehabilitate very sick or injured horses, for nerve debility such as stringhalt and to improve concentration in nervous horses. Professional advice should be sought.

SLIPPERY ELM BARK POWDER
Slippery Elm is most commonly used internally, to treat conditions such as scouring (diarrhoea) and gastric ulceration and as aftercare in some types of colic cases. It soothes and coats injured and inflamed tissues, helping them to heal reducing the likelihood of scarring, as well as drawing out toxins and irritants. May also be beneficial for the urinary and respiratory systems as well as the entire gastro-intestinal tract, including the throat and oesophagus.
